My beloved holiday
My beloved holidays.
I visited a lot of interesting places but what I like the most is Mazury-Poland. I adore the calmness prevailing on the surface of the lake. One might to swim even at night. Without a swimwear;) There are no high waves, instead you can hear all the sounds of nature. And it just made me happy. I fond of animals and birds. I have been there for a few months when I was 17 with my mom and cousin Ola. Our camp was located by one of the largest Masurian lake – Kisajno. There were any infrastructures in the village, except for a few campsites, canteen and a grocery store. To get to this store we also had to go through the forest. So, it was something completely different than all-inclusive holidays in hotels. But that was the whole attraction that we were away from civilization. I would say today- it was a survival. I currently miss those, simple time. It was an interesting experience to live in harmony with nature on a daily basis. Every time you had to go to a water pump to have water, it was a small adventure. If you were to lazy, you didn’t have water to drink.
Because my camping house was right next to the lake , every morning I have been going to the pier, lying on the sun for hours, and swimming in the cold lake. In the morning a swan family was swimming in there, which I had gladly feeding . The little swans are extremely cute and have fluffy feathers. In te evenings, fishermens appeard in the same place. There were many species of fish could be caught in the lake. Various types of vendace, wild eels, even so crawfishes. Our friends from Giżycko had a fish smokehouse at their courtyard , and and we were often invited to a smoked fishes. So fresh, straight from the water tasted seriously delicious!
Our friends also fished crayfish, so we often grilled it all night together with friends. We also spent time on the wreck of a real water barge in which there was a pub. The ship's bow was slowly disintegrating, still stuck in the water. But nobody cared about it until customers were coming - there was a life under the deck I even have a photo from this pub when I was only 13 years old because I spent my holidays there many times before too. I'm standing in this picture behind the counter and I look like a boy;)
I have also traveled to neighboring cities many times, having visited Mikołajki, Giżycko and Węgorzewo. Which are equally nice. Oh, but you need to know that I love everything in the Mazury, even holes in the sidewalk
If you like to partying, it is also possible to get some fun in many taverns where you can meet sailors and yacht owners. To take some rest after the party it is necessary to lie down on one of the piers coupling the port with the mainland and look into the starry sky.
